EOG – Dywity

About the program

The consequence of Poland’s membership in the European Union was accession to the European Economic Area (EEA). Pursuant to the EEA Enlargement Agreement of October 14, 2003, financial assistance was established for the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries creating the EEA – and thus benefiting from the opportunities offered by the EU internal market – for the least wealthy EU countries, including Polish.

In October 2004, the Polish government signed two agreements that enable the use of additional sources of non-repayable foreign aid, apart from the structural funds and the European Union Cohesion Fund: the Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and the Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. The donors are three EFTA countries: Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
The implementation of the Financial Mechanisms in Poland is based on the Regulations on the implementation of the EEA FM and the NMF, taking into account the guidelines prepared by the donor countries.
